Dear Braeside Families
Happy Friday! It looks like the weekend is going to be beautiful, we hope that everyone can spend some time outside!
The excitement is continuing to build for our Celebration of Learning on May 1. Your child’s personalized invitation will come home this week or next. Please complete the RSVP section and return it ASAP. Your child will need to arrive at either 5:45 or 6:45 pm, depending on their performance time. Please ensure you know which group your child is in. If you have questions, please reach out directly to your child's teacher.
School Council has some exciting upcoming events! We know that strong School Councils have a positive impact on a school's culture, and it helps to create a sense of belonging for our students. We appreciate everything that the volunteers continue to do!
School Council is excited to share some great events coming up over the next few months:
Candygrams: We will be selling Candy Bracelets for the students to purchase and send to their classmates and friends at the school. The bracelets will be sold during lunch on April 29 and May 6 for distribution on May 13. Bracelets will be sold for $1 each.
Mindful Parenting Presentation: Courtesy of the CBE's Council Engagement Grant, Council is excited to host a parent presentation from Amber Pavey on Mindful Techniques and Pragmatic Parenting Strategies. Please join us at the school on Thursday, May 29 at 6:30pm to learn and enjoy the session.
Carnival!: Council will be hosting a year-end carnival on June 19. Stay tuned for more information on activities, entertainment and ways to get involved!
Our next meeting is Tuesday, May 6 at 6:30pm - feel free to join even if you haven't been able to come out before!
If you haven’t yet labelled your child’s ‘Spring Coats’ with their first and last name, please do! This time of year, students tend to wear coats and hoodies out for recess and lunch, take them off and then forget about them. If they are labelled there is a greater chance they will be returned to your child.
We encourage all parents and guardians to review your MyCBE account for outstanding fees. These are located under the Student Fees & Service Registration tab and include fieldtrips, lunch supervision and noon hour activity fee.
Enjoy the weekend,
Fiona Johnson and Melanie Bennett
