Dear Braeside Families

We hope that everyone is looking forward to the long weekend.  Please remember that there is no school tomorrow or Monday.   

Your child should have brought home a personalized invitation for our May 1 Celebration of Learning.  Please ensure you complete the RSVP section and send it back to school.  Your child will need to arrive at school at either 5:45 or 6:45 pm depending on their group.  The Celebration will start with whole group performances in the gym and then move to classrooms where students will share individual stories they have been working on as part of our Storytelling Residency.  If you have any questions about your child's performance time please reach out directly to their teacher.

Grade 3 / 4 students will be going on an ‘Outdoor School’ field trip May 7 to Camp Connect at Sibbald Lake.  They will be departing school at approximately 9:00 am and returning at 3:00 pm.  Please ensure that you arrange to pick your child up at 3:00 pm.  (Students who attend the Braeside Community Centre Childcare program will be walked there once back).  Four volunteers will be required to for this field trip.  If you can volunteer, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher.  Field trip forms will be sent home on Tuesday.   

School Council Events

Council is excited to share some great events coming up over the next few months:   

Candygrams: We will be selling Candy Bracelets for the students to purchase and send to their classmates and friends at the school. The bracelets will be sold during lunch on April 29 and May 6 for distribution on May 13th. Bracelets will be sold for $1 each.    

Mindful Parenting Presentation: Courtesy of the CBE's Council Engagement Grant, Council is excited to host a parent presentation from Amber Pavey on Mindful Techniques and Pragmatic Parenting Strategies. Please join us at the school on Thursday, May 29 at 6:30pm to learn and enjoy the session.  

Carnival!: Council will be hosting a year-end carnival on June 19. Stay tuned for more information on activities, entertainment and ways to get involved!   

Our next meeting is Tuesday, May 6 at 6:30pm - feel free to join even if you haven't been able to come out before!
