Dear Braeside Families, 

And just like that it is Winter Break!  It’s hard to believe that the last four months have flown by so quickly.   

As we look back over the start of the 2024 – 2025 school year we are constantly reminded how lucky we are to work at Braeside School.  We feel honored to work with some of the best staff, students and families in the city!  We tell people all the time that Braeside School is a 'true gem' and when substitutes come to our building, they tell us it is the best school to sub in. Thank you to everyone for helping make Braeside School such an amazing place to learn and teach!   

Let’s keep it going in the New Year by supporting our School Council who have a meeting the first week back!  Here is a message from the council: 

School Council's first meeting in the new year will be right after the break on January 7th at 6:15pm in the library. We will be starting with the Fundraising Council then moving on to other business and planning. If you haven't been to a meeting yet, 2025 could be a great time to start! All parents of Braeside School students are welcome to attend. 

Fresh air and outdoor playtime are essential for all students.  Please remember that we go outside every day at least twice unless it is colder than –20 degrees Celsius.  In January your child should come to school with a hat, mittens, a winter jacket and snowpants.  Please ensure that all items are labeled with your child’s name inside.  Our Lost and Found is often overflowing with items and it is much easier to reunite these items with their owners when they are label with the child’s name. 

We hope that you can rest, relax and connect with family and friends over the holidays.
