Dear Braeside Families

The final two weeks of the 2025-2026 school year are going to be great!  Students and staff have lots to look forward to.  Next week School Council is hosting the Year End Family Picnic, a teacher appreciate event, and we will be having our Grade 6 Farewell.  The following week we have our Sports Day and Spirit Day scheduled!  Please visit our Instagram Accounts for pictures and updates! 

With heartfelt appreciation and admiration, we would like to announce the retirement of Mrs. Singbeil at the end of this school year.  We know many of your children have had the privilege of having Mrs. Singbeil as a kindergarten or grade 1 / 2 teacher as she has worked at Braeside School for many years.  Mrs. Singbeil has touched the lives of countless students, inspired colleagues and made many positive connections with families.  She is one of a kind.  We will miss her warm smile, her gentle and creative nature and her ability to infuse wonder and play into her classroom.  Mrs. Singbeil has assured us that she plans on volunteering next year at Braeside School, we are already looking forward to that!  If your child would like to write Mrs. Singbeil a card, please feel free to send it to the office or have your child take it to her classroom.   

For the 2025-2026 school year, CBE will be expanding yellow bus service and adjusting walk zones.  Some students in Braeside will be eligible for this service.  Please visit the CBE website for more information (link here).  Registration is due June 22. 

Next week grade 6 students write PATs on Monday June 16, Tuesday June 17 and Wednesday June 18. Please ensure your child has had enough sleep and that they are on time for school.  

Important Message from School Council 

Can't wait to see you at the Family Picnic next week Thursday, June 19 from 5:30-7:00pm in the school field (weather permitting!). Subway sandwiches are available to order through Healthy Hunger (you will have to add family members as 'students' in your kiddo's class to order sandwiches for them) or bring a picnic! Snacks and drinks will be available to purchase for $2 each. $2 will also buy you a ticket for the draw to throw a 'pie' at a teacher! Bring your toonies!!    

As part of the event we will be collecting bottles to kickstart our fundraising for a new playground - take advantage of this opportunity to clear the empty bottles out of your garage, shed or basement and just bring them down to the school parking lot during the event!

Thank you to everyone who signed up to bring something next week to help shower the Braeside team with appreciation!  Appreciation items can be dropped off in the morning with your kids or by lunch at 11:45am. For Friday the 20th, we will be doing Letters of Appreciation that can be created at the Family Picnic on June 19 or sent in with your kiddos on Friday June 20.
