Dear Braeside Families,
Teachers have been taking advantage of the beautiful weather this week and have organized many learning opportunities outside. Earlier in the week the grade 5 / 6 students visited the Aspen Forest for a game of Predator and Prey with some leadership students from John Ware, the Kindergarten students were blowing bubbles using dandelion stems and today the grade 2 / 3 classes were investigating roots systems in the naturalization area and school field. Students love to play and explore the natural world, and it has been a joy to see them learning and playing outdoors.
Our Spirit Day today was a HUGE hit. Students loved wearing their pajamas to school and sharing their favorite stuffies and were excited to see the staff beachwear. We started the day in the Learning Commons with a whole school dance party and it was a great way to get our blood pumping and energy flowing for learning.
Next week our grade 6 students will be writing PATs (Provincial Achievement Tests) on Wednesday and Thursday morning. It is essential that grade 6 students are here on time these two days as they need to be prepared and settled for their exams.
We are in the thick of planning for the 2024 - 2025 School Year. If you know you will not be returning to Braeside School, please let us know as soon as possible. Our ‘Kindergarten Orientation’ event last night was a success. We were excited to welcome in our newest learners. Please encourage anyone you know who will be joining us for kindergarten next year to register with the school if they haven’t already.
Enjoy the weekend!
