Dear Braeside Families
Happy Friday! We hope that everyone is looking forward to a lovely weekend!
We are so proud of our students and their efforts for Jump Rope for Heart this year!! Many students came a long way with their skipping skills in the last month and were proud today to showcase their crossovers, one-foot skips, backwards skipping and endurance. We had a few groups present routines that they choreographed and practiced. As a school we were able to raise $4162 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Wow!! There were student prizes for fundraising efforts, most improved, most energetic and everyone enjoyed a freezie. Two students won the grand prize of Principal for the day (Gia in grade 1) and Assistant Principal for the day (Zack in grade 1). We can’t wait to see what decisions they make next Tuesday! Furthermore, as a whole school we voted on a spirit day and next Thursday will be – Dress to Impress! Students are encouraged to take this theme and make it their own! We know we will be impressed.
A Message from School Council
The last school council meeting of the year will be next Tuesday, June 3 at 6:30pm in the Learning Commons. Don't worry if you have never been able to come out before or have only made it to a few meetings - it is never too late to come join in!
At the meeting we will be finalizing plans for our Family Picnic on Thursday, June 19! The event will run from 5:30-7:00pm in the school field. Bring something to sit on and bring a picnic, or we will be offering a food option through Healthy Hunger (details to come). We will also be collecting bottles to kick off fundraising for a new playground at the school! This will be a massive undertaking and every penny counts!
If you would be interested in volunteering at the event, the sign up can be found here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B4BABAB29A2F9C25-57024792-year Thank you!
