Dear Braeside Families,
Happy Thursday! Please remember that there is no school tomorrow due to Parent / Teacher Interviews and that next week is Spring Break. We look forward to welcoming your child back to school on Monday March 31. We told students today that their “jobs” over spring break are to read and play outside as much as possible.
Teachers are looking forward to connecting with families tonight and tomorrow during Parent / Teacher Interviews. If you did not have a chance to book an interview, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher. It is important for families to connect directly with teachers to see how their child is progressing throughout the school year.
If you haven’t yet, please ask your child about their work with our latest Artist in Resident, Jeff Stockton. Mr. Sockton has been here three times now and the students have been introduced to the art of oral storytelling and have engaged with preparing their own oral story they will showcase during our Celebration of Learning on May 1. Mark your calendars! We know your child is going to be excited to share with you their learning from this Residency.
Each year we look to gather feedback from our families on school planning. Currently we are offering an online engagement entitled School Planning Survey 2025 | Elementary that you have the opportunity to share your thoughts on. This survey will remain open until March 31, 2025 - 11:59 PM and should take approximately 13 minutes to complete. Complete the survey.
Although it seems early, we are already starting to plan for next year. If you anticipate your child(ren) moving out of Braeside School next year, please let us know as soon as possible (email Ms. Blasken at jlbalsken@cbe.ab.ca).
Kindergarten registration is now open. Please visit this link for more information. If you require help with registration, please don’t hesitate to contact Ms. Blasken in the main office. If you have friends, family members or neighbours with children going into kindergarten next year please encourage them to register as well.
Grade 5 / 6 Families
All grade six students came home yesterday with an “PAT Accommodation” letter in their backpack. Please read through this letter and reach out directly to your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
Outdoor School forms were sent home last week. Please read through them with your child and return them as soon as possible. The fee has been posted to your MyCBE account. Between now and May 6th please go into your account and pay this fee. It can be paid all at once or broken up over the next several months. If you have concerns over the cost of Outdoor school, please reach out to Ms. Blasken to discuss options. It is important that every student has an opportunity to participate. Please ensure you have marked April 10 in your calendars for the mandatory parent meeting.
Enjoy Spring Break!
