Dear Braeside Families, 

Happy Friday!  

Our grade 5 / 6 students (and staff) had the time of their lives this week at Outdoor School.  We know that many core memories were made and that it was a trip that students will remember for years to come.  One thing that was highlighted to us was the importance of spending time outside.  Students were outdoors and off technology for three straight days.  They made shelters, played games in the forest, had mindful moments in nature, went on walks, enjoyed campfires and callback songs, and learned about interactions in our ecosystem.  They came home tired yesterday but also happy. Over the weekend we encourage all families to get outside!  Play at a park or head over to Fish Creek for a walk! 

Online Store

We are excited to share that our Online School Store is open again!  We love seeing students wear their Braeside Swag on Fridays.  Students are always proud of themselves when they get a comment on their school shirts and hoodies!  If you’d like to purchase something for your child, please visit the online store.  The store will remain open until May 26 and deliveries are expected before the end of the school year.   

Cleanup Event

This weekend the Community Centre is hosting a Community Cleanup event.  Please considered joining in to help.  Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Kindergarten Orientation

If you have a child joining us next year for kindergarten, please save the evening of June 12 for Kinder Orientation.  More information will be shared closer to the date.  Please register your kindergarten through SchoolEngage if you have not yet.  If you need help with this, please reach out directly to Ms. Blasken. 

If you have a child in grade 6, we will be hosting a Grade 6 Farewell the morning of Friday June 20 at 10:00 am.  Please save the date, more information will be shared closer to the day. 

Please remember that there is no school for students next Friday or the following Monday (May 16 and May 19).
