Dear Braeside Families,

Happy Friday!  We hope that everyone has the chance to get outside this weekend and enjoy some fresh air!

Our outdoor lunch / picnic on Thursday was a huge success.  We hope to continue doing this once a week until the end of the school year.  Your child is welcome to bring a mat / towel to sit on if they would like (and leave it at their coat-hook).

Wow!  Our students are really getting their JUMP ON!  Students have already raised over $2000 for the Jump Rope for Heart campaign.  Students have 1 week left to register and participate in this event if they would like to.  Our skipping party / assembly will be next Friday morning.

For the 2025 – 2026 school year, CBE will be expanding yellow bus service and adjusting walk zones.  Some students in Braeside will be eligible for this service.  Please visit the CBE website for more information.

Next Wednesday, May 28 our grade 6 students will be writing their first Provincial Achievement Test (PAT), ELAL part A (written exam).  It is very important that if your child is in grade 6, they are on time for school this day and come with a mid-morning snack.  If you have any questions about this, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher.

On Thursday June 12 at 6:00 pm we will be hosting our Kindergarten Orientation.  If you have a child going into kindergarten next year, please plan on attending.  If you have friends or neighbours who have not yet registered for kindergarten, please let them know that registration (for all grades) is now open through the CBE website.  (If you are going to be moving over the summer and your child will not be attending Braeside School please contact our office ASAP, jlblasken@cbe.ab.ca).

Please note that we will be hosting our Grade 6 Farewell on June 20 at 10:00 am.  All grade 6 families are welcome to attend.  The theme is, “Out of this World”.  More information will be shared in the next few weeks.

We are looking forward to seeing you at our Wellness Workshop for Families with Amber Pavey next Thursday evening at 6:30pm in the Learning Commons. If you haven't yet, please take a moment to RSVP via the QR code on the attached flyer. It will be a great and informative session!
