Dear Braeside Families
Wow! We were so impressed with our students last night! They did such an amazing job in their whole group performance in the gym as well as their individual storytelling in their small groups. They should be so proud of themselves. We know that it is not easy to get up in front of an audience and share or perform individually and it was truly delightful to see our student's shine. It is important for students to take risks and try new things. It is by doing this that they build confidence in their abilities and continue to develop their growth mindset. If you were not able to attend last night with your child, please encourage them to share their story with you over the weekend. Thank you to our School Council for sponsoring this event! We know it was an experience that our students and families will remember for many years to come!
Our Grade 5 / 6 students and teachers are looking forward to attending Outdoor School next week! They will be gone to Kamp Kiwanis from Tuesday to Thursday where they will enjoy many outside environmental activities, nightly campfires, family style meals and sleeping in yurts! If your child is attending Outdoor School, please ensure that they arrive on time Tuesday morning with all their required supplies packed and ready to go! If you have any questions, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher.
Message from our School Council
Candygram Sales next week!! We will be selling Candy Bracelets for the students to purchase and send to their classmates and friends at the school. The bracelets will be sold during lunch on May 6th for distribution on May 13. Bracelets will be sold for $1 each.
Mindful Parenting Presentation: Courtesy of the CBE's Council Engagement Grant, Council is excited to host a parent presentation from Amber Pavey on Mindful Techniques and Pragmatic Parenting Strategies on Thursday, May 29 at 6:30pm. Please RSVP. We look forward to seeing you there!

Planning for Next Year
We are currently in the thick of planning for the next school year. If you anticipate your child(ren) moving out of Braeside School next year, please let us know as soon as possible (email Ms. Blasken at jlbalsken@cbe.ab.ca).
Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration is now open. Please visit this link for more information. If you require help with registration, please don’t hesitate to contact Ms. Blasken in the main office. If you have friends, family members or neighbours with children going into kindergarten next year please encourage them to register as well.
