Dear Braeside Families

As you know the CBE is preparing for an Alberta Teachers’ Association strike beginning on Monday October 6th.  This means that starting on Monday all classes will be cancelled.  Please do not send your child to school.  You will receive communication directly from the CBE when the strike is over and students are returning to school.  You can also visit the Labour Action page on the CBE website for updates.   

We will miss seeing your children each day that job action occurs.  We will miss their smiles, their laughs and seeing them engaged in learning.  Braeside School is a special place.  It is a community where students and staff experience joy each day.  Students run to embrace their friends and look forward to activities their teachers have planned.  Staff care deeply about your children and want them to succeed.

The Annual General Meetings and standard monthly meetings for the School Council and Fundraising Society are scheduled for Tuesday, October 7. In the event of a Teachers' Strike, these meetings will be postponed until the end of the strike and the current Executives will remain in place. The agendas for the AGMs are attached for your review. Should we be able to meet on Tuesday, October 7th, the schedule will run as follows:   

6:15-6:45pm - Fundraising Society Meeting 

6:45-7:00pm - Braeside School Council AGM 

7:00-7:15pm - Fundraising Society AGM 

7:15pm - Braeside School Council Meeting . See School Council page for Notice and Agenda.

Once labour action has been resolved, we will send out a message.
