Dear Braeside Families

Wow!  Wow!  Wow!  What an amazing start-up it has been.  We saw many smiles and hugs as students were reunited with their friends and teachers.  The first few weeks of school really provide students with the opportunity to connect with others in a positive and joyful way. Ask your child what their favorite thing was this week and what they are going to do to help make this year great for themself and their classmates.   

This year as a whole school we will be studying the question, “What’s Our Story?”  To start this, each class will be spending time over the next few weeks exploring who they are as an individual and as a learner and how they connect as a classroom community.  This will then move to include a broader view of what our story is as a Braeside School community. 

Please consider attending our first School Council meeting next Tuesday September 3 at 6:30 pm in the Learning Commons.  Administration will share stories, pictures and videos from the first few days of school and information about the upcoming school year.  Please mark your calendars for next month as the AGM will be held on October 1.  The School Council Chair, Kyla Anderson, shares:

We will be looking to fill several roles on the School Council and on the Fundraising Society.  

It's an excellent opportunity to  participate in decisions that impact student learning. By contributing your knowledge, perspective and ideas at council meetings you are actively contributing to school community and school district success.

Next Friday we will be hosting our first Spirit Day!  Please encourage your child to showcase their Braeside Wear or something blue!  We will start the day with a dance party in the library during soft entry so encourage your child to get in the door as quickly as possible that day.  Our online School Store is now open if you would like to purchase your child something new.  Link Here 

Please remember that soft entry is from 7:50 am to 8:00 am.  Your child should arrive during this time and be ready for learning at 8:00 am. 

This year, our teachers will use Instagram to share what is happening in the classroom as well as important announcements and information.  Please ensure that you follow your child’s account.
