Dear Braeside Families,
Happy FriYAY! It was great to see so many students participating in our first Spirit Day - wearing blue and pumped for our morning dance party. Starting our day with a little movement and shared laughs is a great way for our students to get ready and energized for learning. We encourage students to wear blue on Fridays even when it’s not an official Spirit Day, it’s a great way for us to build community and a sense of belonging. As was shared last week, this year we will be exploring the question, “What’s Our Story?” We know that our families are an important part of the Braeside Story so we are excited to welcome everyone into the school on September 26 for our Meet the Teacher Event! Please plan to attend sometime between 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM. Your child will be able to tour you around the school, show you their classroom, introduce you to their teachers and share one of their first art projects. School Council will also be hosting a hotdog fundraiser that night! Please plan on having dinner here ($5 per person for a hotdog, chips and a drink)! Learn more below! All families need to visit their child’s MyCBE – Online Forms parent portal to complete this year’s required forms (Demographic Verification updates, Annual Volunteer and Media Release). We appreciate families doing this as quickly as possible. If you need support with setting up or accessing your child's account please reach out directly to Ms. Blasken (jlblasken@cbe.ab.ca).
This year, our teachers will use Instagram to share what is happening in the classroom as well as post important announcements and information. Please ensure that you follow your child’s account.
