Dear Braeside Families,

Thank you to everyone who attended Parent-Teacher Conferences over the last few days. Braeside students are always so proud to show off their learning and classroom spaces. If you were not able to attend this week, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher and see if you can find a time to connect.

We are looking forward to welcoming our upcoming Artist in Residence, Jennifer Stables, to Braeside School next month. On her website you can read:

“Jenny Dale Stables is an experienced multidisciplinary artist and art educator. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Art (2001), a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education (2005), and a Certificate as a Therapeutic Arts Practitioner (2021). Jenny creates whimsical paintings, sculptures, book illustrations, public art installations, and puppets. She has written and/or illustrated over 20 publications including picture books, early readers, chapter books, poetry books, and educational resources.”

Ms. Stables will be working with each class to design and produce art pieces that will be shared at our Celebration of Learning on May 2. Students love working with experts and we have no doubt that this will be an amazing experience for them. Please visit Ms. Stables website with your child to help get them excited for this residency. (Link Here) Thank you to school council for sponsoring this event!

We hope that everyone enjoys some rest and relaxation during Spring Break. Although we know that not everyone loves this extended winter weather, we are having we have encouraged students to get outside and play as much as possible over the break!
