Dear Braeside Families  

Welcome to the 2025 – 2026 school year!  We hope over the summer you had a chance to enjoy some rest and connect with family and friends.    

We are excited to greet students and families next week and wanted to share some preliminary information prior to the first day back.     

  • The office is now open Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.  Please reach out directly to Ms. Blasken with any registration questions (jlblasken@cbe.ab.ca).   
  • Welcome emails will be sent out directly by homeroom teachers on Thursday August 28 by 2:00 pm.  These emails will include all the information required for the first day of school.  If you do not receive an email by 3:00 pm on Thursday, please contact the school directly 403-777-8470.     
  • The first day of school is Tuesday September 2.  (Kindergarten students only will have a staggered entry).
  • Please see the attached school calendars. 
  • School hours are: 
    • Kindergarten (PM Class): 
      • Monday to Thursday, 11:40 am – 2:30 pm 
      • Alternating Fridays, 8:00 am – 11:00 am 
    • Grades 1 – 6: 
      • Monday to Thursday, (soft entry 7:50 am) 8:00 am – 2:30 pm 
      • Lunch 11:45 am – 12:25 pm 
      • Fridays, (soft entry 7:50 am) 8:00 am – 12:00 pm   
  • All school supplies will be provided in your child’s classroom.  Please ensure your child has the following items (labelled with their name): 
    • Clean indoor shoes 
    • Backpack, lunch-kit and water bottle   
  • If you have moved over the summer and are not returning to Braeside School this year, please email myself (mabennett@cbe.ab.ca) and Ms. Blasken (jlblasken@cbe.ab.ca) ASAP.     
  • If you know of anyone who has moved into the neighbourhood, and they plan on attending Braeside School this year please encourage them to contact the school ASAP.     
  • The Before and After School program at the Braeside Community Centre currently has space in for kindergarten students.  If your child is in kindergarten and requires childcare, please reach out directly to Louise Whitbread (the Program Director) at braechildcare@gmail.com or (403)258-0699.
